Christian Counseling

The major in Christian Counseling is designed for undergraduate students seeking to prepare for a life of ministry with a concentration in counseling from a Christian worldview. This major incorporates the basics of psychology and then focuses the course work in Biblical Counseling. This program is ideally suited for those who seek further training as Christian counselors at the graduate level.

In addition to the Core Curriculum and Christian Studies Minor , Christian Counseling majors must complete the following:

Christian Counseling - 30 hours

PSY 2600 - Introduction to Psychology 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4620 - Biblical Counseling 3 semester hr(s).
PSY 3530 - Developmental Psychology 3 semester hr(s).
PSY 4400 - Abnormal Psychology 3 semester hr(s).
PSY 4500 - Counseling Theory 3 semester hr(s).
PSY 4510 - Social and Cultural Psychology 3 semester hr(s).
SCI 1620 - Neuroscience of Behavior 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4640 - Counseling Practicum I 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4645 - Mentored Counseling Internship 3 semester hr(s).
Choose ONE of the following courses:
MIN 4630 - Marital and Premarital Counseling 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4631 - Counseling Parents and Children 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4632 - Counseling and the Church 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4633 - Cross-Cultural Counseling 3 semester hr(s).
