    Under the supervision of one’s Major Professor, as the initial research requirement of the M.A. (Philosophy of Religion) and M.A. (Old Testament) program, an original, extensive bibliographical report is prepared surveying the most significant of Southeastern’s library resources (including AV and computer resources) in the field and especially in the degree specialization the student has chosen.

  • MIN 3631 - Biblical Foundations for the Minister’s Wife


    A practical survey of issues relating to the minister’s wife. This class is directed primarily toward the minister’s wife. Any woman would benefit from the biblical teachings of this class. Besides the wife of ministers, single women, female college students, and women from the community are welcome to attend.

    This course will analyze ministry to women, considering a biblical model, as well as historical, philosophical, and cultural influences.     An introduction to biblical, hermeneutical, and educational principles of teaching the Bible.   • MIN 4633 - Cross-Cultural Counseling


    Principles of Christian counseling are applied to cross-cultural settings, with diverse ethnic and people groups. Students will develop their awareness of their own cultural and ethnic context and increase their sensitivity to the impact of diverse worldviews, cultural factors, and religious beliefs on counseling. Students will also develop their awareness of and capacity to advocate for social justice, including heightened awareness and elimination of prejudice and bias, while at the same time not compromising their Christian perspective.

    An overview of North American church planting in its theoretical and practical dimensions. Students will be equipped to develop a vision and values for church planting that is theologically driven and contextually appropriate. The case studies and models to be discussed and critiqued will be those that have arisen in North American contexts.

    A survey of church planting models, including analysis of the sociology of a reproducing church and a demographic study of designated North American mission areas.

    A study of church planting models, methods, systems, and processes with an emphasis on the analysis of missiological and sociological factors affecting the planting of reproducing churches. This course may only be taken in conjunction with a SEBTS approved EQUIP Partner.
