PMN 9710 - Historical Readings for Pastoral Theology Through reading primary sources on pastoral ministry from the early church through the current day, this course will discuss historical patterns unfolding in pastoral work with a view to affecting the student/pastor’s evaluation, perception, and practice of pastoral ministry. The class will give attention to significant pastoral figures, resources, churches, and movements that have shaped pastoral ministry through the centuries. Students will become familiar with key materials that shape pastoral ministry by evaluating each biblically, theologically, historically, and contemporarily. 3 semester hr(s).
