BCO 6620 - Family Systems: History and Theory


A critical appraisal of basic theoretical concepts in Family Systems Theory, as well as a critical analysis of family systems theory from a Christian perspective. The course will address historical and conceptual development of Family Systems Theory, Introduction to General Systems Theory, family roles, rules, structures and interactive patterns, communicative dynamics. This course will provide students with a foundational understanding of the dynamics of family interaction from a systems perspective. (see syllabus for full descriptions)

Prerequisite(s): BCO5500 or 6000. Counseling students are required to take BCO6000.
