GEN 5510 - Second Language Acquisition
This course will introduce students to the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). The process of SLA (or L2 acquisition) will be compared and contrasted with first language acquisition (FLA or L1 acquisition). The role of individual differences in language learning (age, motivation, aptitude, and first language background) will be analyzed. In addition, students will consider the implications of SLA theory for ESL teaching and cross-cultural ministry contexts. Typically Offered: Every Fall
