Theology

The major in Theology introduces students to the study of God and man. Students read great works of theology, literature, history, philosophy, and political theory and interact with them from a Christian perspective. Additional courses in logic, rhetoric, philosophy, apologetics, and theological electives allow students to tailor the program toward graduate work in seminary, classical studies, literature, history, law, or any other field in the liberal arts.

In addition to the General Studies and Christian Studies requirements , Theology majors must complete the following:

Theology - 42 Hours

HOI 3510 - Seminar in Theology & Culture 3 semester hr(s).
HOI 3520 - Seminar in Philosophy and Science 3 semester hr(s).
PHI 2500 - Christian Philosophy: Worldview, Western Thought, and Apologetics 3 semester hr(s).
PHI 3510 - Logic 3 semester hr(s).
OTS 4610 - Old Testament Theology 3 semester hrs.
NTS 4610 - Old Testament Theology 3 semester hrs.

Choose any three THE electives 3000 level or higher - 9 Hours

Choose one of the following pairs of foreign language courses:

GRK 2610 - Biblical Greek I 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 2620 - Biblical Greek II 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 3610 - Greek Syntax and Exegesis I 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 3620 - Greek Syntax and Exegesis II 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 2610 - Biblical Hebrew I 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 2620 - Biblical Hebrew II 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 3610 - Biblical Hebrew Syntax and Exegesis 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 3620 - Intermediate Hebrew Exegesis 3 semester hr(s).
