Worship Ministry

The Major in Worship Ministry allows the student to study biblical and theological foundations of Christian worship and build skills in music and leadership for worship ministry in the local church. There are no additional admission requirements for the Major in Worship Ministry, although entering students will be evaluated for music reading and performance skills for appropriate placement in music courses.

In addition to the Core Curriculum and Christian Studies Minor , Worship Ministry majors must complete the following:

Worship Ministry - 30 hours

Theology and Ministry Studies (15 hours):

MIN 3540 - Ministry of Worship 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4900 - Mentored Internship I 3 semester hr(s).
EVA 3510 - Personal Discipleship & Disciple-making 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 3541 - Worship Leadership 3 semester hr(s).
Music Studies (6 hours):
MUS 1501 - Basic Musicianship I 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 1502 - Sightsinging Lab I 1 semester hr(s).
MUS 3500 - Musical Styles in Western Culture 3 semester hr(s).
Applied Guitar (2 hours from the following):
MUS 1536 - Beginning Guitar Class 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 1537 - Guitar Class, Level 2 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 2647 - Guitar Private Study 1 semester hr(s).
Applied Piano (2 hours from the following):
MUS 1534 - Piano Class 1 semester hr(s).
MUS 2642 - Piano Private Study 1 semester hr(s).
Applied Voice (2 hours from the following):
