This degree is designed to equip students to serve on the staff of a local church or another ministry organization in non-senior pastoral roles. It is comprised of the vocational MA Core plus 12 hours of EQUIP selectives. The 12 hours of selective courses MUST be completed as EQUIP courses taken in an approved EQUIP church or ministry organization. All remaining hours may be taken in the format of the student’s choosing, including online.
Admissions Requirements
Admission to this program is limited to persons holding a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent who also meet all other admission requirements for the Seminary.

- SEM 5000 - Introduction to Seminary Education 1 semester hr(s). Taken during first semester.
- OTS 5110 - Old Testament Introduction and Interpretation I: Pentateuch and Former Prophets 3 semester hr(s).
- OTS 5120 - Old Testament Introduction and Interpretation II: Latter Prophets and Writings 3 semester hr(s).
- NTS 5110 - New Testament Introduction and Interpretation I: Jesus and the Gospels 3 semester hr(s).
- NTS 5120 - New Testament Introduction and Interpretation II: Acts, Epistles, and Revelation 3 semester hr(s).
- HIS 5130 - Baptist History: Identity, Heritage, and Polity 3 semester hr(s).
- THE 6110 - Christian Theology I 3 semester hr(s).
- THE 6120 - Christian Theology II 3 semester hr(s).
- ETH 5100 - Introduction to Christian Ethics 3 semester hr(s).
OR - PHI 5100 - Christian Philosophy: Worldview, Western Thought, and Apologetics 3 semester hr(s).
- EVA 6610 - Personal Discipleship & Disciple-making 3 semester hr(s). *

- PRS 6100 - Bible Exposition I: Hermeneutics and Preparation 3 semester hr(s). *

*Indicates a course is offered in an EQUIP format (e.g., EVA 6611 - Personal Discipleship and Disciple-Making Practicum and PRS 6101 - Bible Exposition I: Hermeneutics and Preparation Practicum )
**Indicates that EQUIP students may take this course online or in on-campus formats (traditional, extension center, intensive, or hybrid). As an alternative, the requirement may be met through an EQUIP center by taking either MIS 5101 - Christian Missions: Principles and Practice Practicum or EVA 5101 - Evangelism: Nature and Practice Practicum along with specific leveling work in the other course as determined by the Professor of Record.
EQUIP Selectives - 12 Hours
Total - 49 Hours
Note: Up to 24 of the total hours can be completed through EQUIP courses.
