Writing, Rhetoric, and Communication Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Undergraduate Degrees

The minor in Writing, Rhetoric, and Communication is a track of study designed to equip students with the productive crafts of writing and communication. The minor crosses traditional disciplinary categories with courses in English, philosophy, and missions for learning and applying principles of audience-centered communication. The minor is an attractive and useful program of study for anyone pursuing various vocations that require producing and analyzing public discourse or that require expertise in writing and communication. Rhetorical theory equips students to apply principles of communication to writing, speaking, and new media. The minor follows guidelines recommended by The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) toward equipping students as effective and creative communicators to the glory of God and for the benefit of audiences.
