Christian Counseling/CMFIC (BA & MA)

The major in Christian Counseling is designed for undergraduate students seeking to prepare for a life of ministry with a concentration in counseling from a Christian worldview. This major incorporates the basics of psychology and then focuses the course work in Biblical Counseling.

Billing

Students will be billed at the undergraduate tuition rate for all Bachelor’s degree coursework and at the graduate tuition rate for all Master’s degree coursework. For that reason and because of financial aid ramifications, students should reach out to the Registrar Office before starting any Master’s degree coursework.

Academic Advising

All five-year students are required to meet with the Office of Student Success to be cleared to register for upcoming classes.

Transfer Credits

Courses offered are intended to satisfy the educational requirements for Marriage and Family Therapy licensure in North Carolina and meet the majority of requirements in most states. Courses transferred into this program from outside Southeastern are not guaranteed to satisfy the requirements for state licensure boards. All master-level programs at SEBTS are accredited by SACSCOC and ATS. Please refer to the https://www.ncbmft.org/licensure/license-application website for a thorough description of all the requirements for licensure in NC.
