Biblical Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies and Biblical Studies double major equips students to translate and exegete Hebrew and Greek biblical texts. The student will participate in the beginning level of Hebrew and Greek (two semesters each) as well as a third semester of each biblical language, which focuses on syntax and exegesis. Additional courses in Old and New Testament Theology and Book Studies in the Old and New Testaments, prepare students to understand the methodological bases and theological concepts of Scripture. The degree will launch students into graduate work in seminary.

Biblical Studies

In addition to the General Studies and Christian Studies requirements , Biblical Studies majors must complete the following:

HEB 2610 - Biblical Hebrew I 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 2620 - Biblical Hebrew II 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 3610 - Biblical Hebrew Syntax and Exegesis 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 2610 - Biblical Greek I 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 2620 - Biblical Greek II 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 3610 - Greek Syntax and Exegesis I 3 semester hr(s).
Two courses in English or Hebrew Old Testament Book Studies (6 hrs):
OTS 3800 - Old Testament Book Study 3 semester hr(s).
HEB 3000 - Hebrew Exegesis: [Book] 3 semester hr(s).
Two courses English or Greek New Testament Book Studies (6 hrs):
NTS 3800 - New Testament Book Study 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 3000 - Greek Exegesis: [Book] 3 semester hr(s).
BTI 4600 - Old Testament Theology 3 semester hr(s).
BTI 4700 - New Testament Theology 3 semester hr(s).
Two additional Free Electives (6 hrs)
