Worship Ministry

The Major in Worship Ministry allows the student to study biblical and theological foundations of Christian worship and build skills in music and leadership for worship ministry in the local church. There are no additional admission requirements for the Major in Worship Ministry, although students will be asked to demonstrate performance skills for appropriate placement in music applied study courses.

In addition to the Core Curriculum and Christian Studies Minor , those students in the Worship Ministry major must complete the following requirements:

Worship Ministry - 30 hours

Biblical and Theological Studies:
OTS 3800 - Old Testament Book Study 3 semester hr(s). Book of Psalms
THE 3515 - Theology of Worship 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 3540 - Ministry of Worship 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 4900 - Mentored Internship I 3 semester hr(s).
EVA 3510 - Christian Growth and Discipleship 3 semester hr(s).
MIN 3541 - Worship Leadership 3 semester hr(s).
Music Studies:
MUS 1501 - Basic Musicianship I 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 1502 - Sightsinging Lab I 1 semester hr(s).
Applied Guitar (2 credits from the following):
MUS 1536 - Beginning Guitar Class 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 1537 - Guitar Class for Music Majors 2 semester hr(s).
MUS 2647 - Guitar Private Study 1 semester hr(s).
Applied Piano (2 credits from the following):
