Expository Preaching Track, M.Div.

The Expository Preaching track prepares students for pastoral ministry in the local church with a special emphasis on preaching. Beyond the 60 hr. M.Div. Core students take track requirements in preaching, biblical languages, and pastoral ministry. The student then takes additional track selectives in preaching.

Degree Requirements

In addition to the M.Div. Core , students specializing in Expository Preaching must complete the following courses:

Expository Preaching - 33 Hours

Track Core Courses - 27 Hours

HEB 6500 - Biblical Hebrew Syntax and Exegesis 3 semester hr(s).
GRK 6500 - Greek Syntax and Exegesis 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6500 - Sermon Delivery 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6510 - Expository Preaching 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6530 - Engaging the Contemporary Audience 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6520 - The Pastor and the Preaching Ministry 3 semester hr(s).
BCO 5500 - Biblical Counseling 3 semester hr(s).
PMN 6500 - Pastoral Ministry 3 semester hr(s).
PMN 6590 - Supervised Field Ministry 3 semester hr(s).

Track Selectives: Select 6 hours from the following courses.

PRS 6695 - Preaching and Contemporary Worldviews 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6620 - Preaching the Great Themes of the Bible 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6630 - Preaching on Biblical Characters 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6690 - Preaching on Contemporary Issues 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6640 - Preaching on Special Occasions 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6610 - The Objectives of Preaching 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6660 - American Preaching 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6650 - Evangelistic Preaching 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6680 - Variety and Creativity in Preaching 3 semester hr(s).
