Worship Leadership Track, M.Div.

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: SEBTS Graduate Degree Programs

The Worship Leadership track equips students to provide biblical leadership in the worship ministries of the local church.

All general admissions requirements for the Seminary must be met. An undergraduate music degree is not required, though a certain proficiency in music is required to complete the degree. The student’s proficiency in music will be evaluated by the faculty for the purpose of recommending an individualized program of study.

Entering M.Div. Worship Leadership track students will be required to take a placement exam in music theory. If competence is not demonstrated on the placement exam within the first semester after admission, the student’s advisor will recommend the appropriate courses to address deficiencies.

As part of the Worship Leadership track, students must also demonstrate the skills necessary to lead worship through music, including (1) vocal skills for leading congregational singing and (2) instrumental skills in guitar or piano. Instruction is available to prepare for competency and to further develop musical skills for worship leadership.

In addition to the M.Div. Core , students specializing in Worship Leadership must complete the following courses:

Worship Leadership Core - 12 Hours
