Master of Arts (Christian Studies) ͦ

The Master of Arts Christian Studies (MACS) is a Seminary degree that provides a graduate level introduction to the theological disciplines. The degree is designed to prepare students for further graduate study or for general educational purposes. This 39 hour degree can be completed entirely through distance education. The Distance Learning Office will offer courses for the MACS in online, hybrid, and extension center formats in accordance with their regular rotation. Students may also take MACS courses on campus.

Admission Requirements

Applicants should have an accredited Bachelor’s degree.

MA Research Core - 4 Hours

GEN 0000 - Sexual Abuse Prevention & Response Training 0 semester hr(s).
MIS 5000 - Introduction to Great Commission Studies 3 semester hr(s).
SEM 5000 - Introduction to Seminary Education 1 semester hr(s). To be taken during the first semester.

Christian Studies - 35 Hours

Bible Exposition (3)

Choose one of the following courses:

CED 6300 - Bible Exposition for Ministry to Women I 3 semester hr(s).
PRS 6100 - Bible Exposition I: Hermeneutics and Preparation 3 semester hr(s). *
*Course is offered in an EQUIP format (e.g., PRS 6101 - Bible Exposition I: Hermeneutics and Preparation Practicum ).

Ministry Studies (3)

EVA 6610 - Personal Discipleship & Disciple-making 3 semester hr(s). *
*Course is offered in an EQUIP format (e.g., EVA 6611 - Personal Discipleship and Disciple-Making Practicum ).

Research Project (2)

GEN 7500 - MA Research Project 2 semester hr(s). *

Total Hours - 39

*Note: Students who do not complete this course in one semester will be required to enroll in IND 7000 - MA Continuous Enrollment in each successive semester until the requirements for this course are completed.
