Bible Translation, M.A.

Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary offers the Master of Arts (Bible Translation). Students participating in the program will be guided through a focused curriculum studying both Biblical Languages and principles of Bible Translation. The purpose of the Master of Arts (Bible Translation) is to prepare students to serve as translators and as field supervisors for Bible translation teams.

The 60 hr curriculum can be completed in two years of full-time study.

Admissions Requirements

Admission to the MA (Bible Translation) presupposes undergraduate preparation at the College at Southeastern along with 2 semesters of Greek or Hebrew. Candidates who are coming from outside the College at Southeastern may enter by demonstrating equivalency in addition to two semesters of Greek or Hebrew. Students lacking some equivalency requirements make up those deficiencies concurrently.

Degree Requirements


Master of Arts (Bible Translation) students must complete 60 semester hours of credit. Students must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or better to be eligible for graduation
